BPS Closes Palm Bay Area Schools for Wednesday, May 14

 

            VIERA – Brevard Public Schools has announced that all schools in Palm Bay will remain closed Wednesday, May 14, due to smoke and fire, and emergency response and recovery efforts in the community. In addition, some schools remain without power. The following schools will be closed: 

·         Bayside High School

·         Southwest Middle School

·         Westside Elementary School

·         Sunrise Elementary School

·         Columbia Elementary School

·         Jupiter Elementary School

·         Turner Elementary School

·         Discovery Elementary School

·         Christa McAuliffe Elementary School

·         Palm Bay Elementary School

·         Riviera Elementary School

·         Lockmar Elementary School

·         Port Malabar Elementary School

·         Palm Bay High School

·         Riverdale Country School

·         Palm Bay Academy Charter School

·         Patriot/Palm Bay Community Charter School

·         Royal Palm Charter School

·         River’s Edge Charter Academy

·         Odyssey Charter School

  

            Transportation of Students in Palm Bay   

·         No bus transportation will service students in or out of Palm Bay on Wednesday, May 14.

·         No corridor busing will occur in or out of Palm Bay to Cocoa Beach Jr./Sr. High, Eau Gallie High, Stevenson Elementary, Freedom 7 Elementary, West Melbourne School of Science, West Shore Jr./Sr. High and the South Area Alternative Learning Center.  

 

Palm Bay area parents of students who attend schools in other parts of the county should use their best judgment regarding if it is safe for them to travel to school.  ALL OTHER SCHOOLS IN BREVARD COUNTY WILL BE OPEN.
