BPS Students Start School Aug. 18
2008-2009 School Calendar Finalized
VIERA–Brevard Public Schools (BPS) has revised its school calendar. In the Board approved modified calendar, students will begin the 2008-2009 school year on Aug. 18. This year’s calendar is designed so that students may take semester exams prior to Dec. 22, when Winter Vacation begins. Students report back to school Jan. 6. Spring Vacation begins April 6 and ends April 10. The last day for students is May 28. For additional calendar information, visit the BPS Web site at www.brevardschools.org.

* During the 2008 – 2009 school year, emergency days will be taken in the following order: October 17, November 11, December 22, December 23, January 2, and February 16. The order for using make up days for schools closed due to emergencies will depend on where the emergencies fall during the school year. Teacher workdays are subject to negotiation and are tentative.
