    Dr. Stephanie Soliven

    Assistant Superintendent Secondary Leading & Learning 

    Dr. Stephanie Soliven is the Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Leading and Learning.  In this capacity, since 2017, she oversees each of the district’s middle and high schools.  Engaging programming and college and career readiness are priority initiatives for Dr. Soliven and Brevard Public Schools.  She examines all aspects of the student experience to increase opportunities for hands-on learning, relevancy in curriculum, meaningful extra-curriculars, and academic opportunities to strengthen each and every student.  Dr. Soliven works closely with students, families, and school leaders to amplify outcomes and opportunities for the diverse group of learners in BPS. 

    Dr. Soliven has also aggressively pursued career and technical education programs and drop-out prevention options while expanding dual enrollment opportunities and gifted education.  Dr. Soliven served as principal of Cocoa High for 8 years, previously working as assistant principal at CHS and at Southwest Middle School.  She has her doctorate in education (Curriculum and Instruction) from the University of Central Florida, where she also earned her masters' and bachelor’s degrees.  During her career, she has been recognized at the national level as a Milken Foundation educator, completed the rigorous Broad Academy Fellowship program, selected by the state of Florida Assistant Principal of the Year, chosen as an NAACP Unsung Hero,  and has been the recipient of leadership awards from local agencies and the University of Central Florida.  Dr. Soliven is originally from Miami, Florida but has called Brevard her home since 1990.
