Mrs. Tara Harris - Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction for Brevard Public Schools
Mrs. Harris’ educational experience with Brevard Public Schools began as a student and graduate of Rockledge High School in 1991. After attending college, she returned to Brevard Public Schools to serve the community which provided her with so much. Over the last 27 years, Mrs. Harris has served in various roles on the journey to her current position as Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction.
She served in support roles and as a classroom teacher prior to becoming the Assistant Principal at Port Malabar Elementary. After five years of serving the Port Malabar community, she became the principal of Pinewood Elementary. During this time, Pinewood Elementary earned the designation of an ECTAC Exceeding Expectations School for demonstrating high student achievement. Mrs. Harris was also named the BPS Principal of the Year in 2013 while serving the students, staff, and families of North Brevard. In 2016, she joined the district team as a Director of Elementary Leading and Learning where she served the district in the roles of elementary curriculum director and principal supervisor. As a lifelong resident of Brevard, Mrs. Harris is committed to her role of serving the students, staff, families, and community stakeholders of Brevard.
