Principal

Principal Kraus began her journey as a Head Sea Turtle in 2023. She received her Bachelor’s Degree of Science from the University of Florida and her Master’s of Science Degree in Educational Leadership from University of West Florida. She holds Florida Licenses in the areas of School Principal, Educational Leadership, Exceptional Student Education, English for Speakers of Other Languages, and Elementary Education Grades K-6. Principal Kraus has been employed with Brevard Public Schools since 2006, where she began her career as a Kindergarten teacher. Since then, Mrs. Kraus has served a variety of instructional roles in 3^rd Grade, 6^th Grade as well as Science K-6. Prior to coming to Sunrise, she served the Atlantis Elementary community for six years as Assistant Principal.

Principal Kraus’s goal is to collaboratively foster a culture centered on what is best for children. This includes supporting teachers as lifelong learners, garnering strong partnerships with all shareholders, as well as building lasting memories for families that will promote student achievement and positive character development.

Asst. Principal

AP Marlasca is excited to serve her Sunrise family. She received her Bachelor’s degree of Science in Elementary Education from Florida International University and her Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education. She holds Florida licenses in the areas of Educational Leadership, Elementary Education grades K-6, Math grades 5-9,  English for Speakers of Other Languages, and Gifted and Reading endorsements. AP Marlasca has been employed with Brevard Public Schools since 2010, where she began her career as a middle school Reading teacher. Since then, she has taught 2nd, 3rd, and 6th grades. Before coming to Sunrise, she worked as a 6th-grade teacher at Discovery Elementary.
