Hi University Park Artists! I miss you all so much!
I hope you have had a chance to do some of the Art activities listed in Focus.
All the Weekly Art Lessons are optional - that means that I'd really like for you to try to do some or all of them but if you don't, that's okay too. Please check this page every week. It will have your new assignment for the week and also some other fun things you might want to try out.
I'll be adding some fun videos to watch if you aren't able to do any art. If you do any of the activites listed here - or any artsy projects of your own, I'd LOVE to see them. You can email them to me here - - - -> Ms.Griffin or send them to me on the University Park Art Facebook page or Instagram page. Let me know if you'd like me to post them. I'd love to hear from you even if you don't have a picture to share!

Kathy Griffin
Hi there! I’m Kathy Griffin, the Art Teacher at University Park Elementary. I’ve been teaching for 26 years, 21 of those years at University Park. During my time at University Park I’ve been the Writing teacher, a 4th grade teacher, a 3rd grade teacher and now I teach Art.
I am a Melbourne native – I was born and raised right here in Melbourne, Florida. I live with my husband, John, my dogs, Sadie and Crosby, and my cats, Lucy and Simon. (That’s a lot of commas in one sentence!) When I’m not at school I love going to the beach, working in my garden, and making ART of course. People sometimes ask me what my favorite medium (material) is to work with. It’s ALL of them – whatever is in my hands! When I’m at home though, I usually reach for watercolors (they are easy to clean up!). I also love collecting junque (that’s what junk is called in the Art Room). Luckily, most of it comes in handy in the Art room, but I really have to be careful how much I collect.
I absolutely love teaching Art! I am constantly amazed at the talent and creativity of children.
