Vision/Mission

  • School Vision

The vision of Sherwood is to meet the academic and social-emotional needs of all students.

    School Mission

Sherwood Elementary School, in partnership with the community and families, will strive to provide a rigorous and nurturing learning environment which fosters respect, responsibility, and safety.

  • Greetings Sherwood Community,

It is a distinct honor and my sincere pleasure to introduce myself as Sherwood Elementary’s Principal. I am excited to continue my educational partnership with Brevard Public Schools and this dynamic learning community of amazing students, talented teachers and staff, supportive parents, and engaged community members. Together, we will continue to take care of our most valuable resource…our children!

I am a product of Brevard Public Schools and a graduate of Eau Gallie High School, Brevard Community College (BCC), University of Central Florida (UCF), and American College of Education (ACE). My educational career spans 20 years in Brevard County. During this time, I served ten years as a classroom teacher, seven years as a Title I Instructor and Leadership Team Member, and three years as an Assistant Principal. My career includes diverse experiences within a private school, charter school, and Brevard Public Schools. I am proud of my professional development and accomplishments along the way including building positive relationships, supporting students’ social-emotional needs, increasing student achievement results, and ensuring continuous learning for all. I have been nominated as Teacher of the Year from 2002 -2005 and 2010 and recognized as a BPS Assistant Principal of the Year Finalist in 2019.

Children are my number one priority. I strive to facilitate a positive school environment aimed at nurturing positive mindsets and challenging and engaging students; making learning visible, rigorous and meaningful. I provide shared leadership opportunities and a focus on collective efficacy where stakeholders unite consistently to collaborate and make well-informed decisions. The heart of all I do, is based on what is in the BEST interest of students.

I invite you to review the school website for additional information regarding our school. Please contact the school office if you are in need of assistance in any area.

I look forward to a year of new beginnings and working together with Sherwood families, students, and community members.

    Sincerely,

     Sandra Marines
