Dr. Chad Kirk
Chad Kirk was raised in southwestern Virginia and moved to Brevard County in 1986, where he attended Hoover Junior High and graduated from Melbourne High School. After graduation he attended Florida State University where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Science Education in 1996. Dr. Kirk was a proud member of the Florida State University Marching Chiefs during his years in Tallahassee. After graduation, Dr. Kirk moved back to Brevard County to begin his teaching career. He enjoyed teaching history at Hoover Middle School, Bayside High School, and Melbourne High School before entering graduate school for educational leadership. Dr. Kirk earned his Master of Science degree from Nova Southeastern University in 2003 and his Doctor of Education degree from Florida State University in 2019. During his administrative career, Dr. Kirk served as assistant principal/dean at Central Middle School from 2004-2008 and as Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Instruction at Jefferson Middle School from 2008-2012. He was appointed Principal at Central Middle School in 2012. In 2015, Dr. Kirk was privileged to be appointed principal at his alma mater, Melbourne High School. As the “Head Bulldog,” Dr. Kirk is focused on delivering a high quality education to all students in a culture of dedication, collaboration, learning. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, travel, sports, playing the saxophone, and cheering for his Seminoles!

Mr. Jim Meegan
Mr. Meegan has worked at Melbourne High School since the fall of 2000. He previously taught Biology, Integrated Science, as well as Science Research. In June of 2005, he joined the school administrative staff. Currently, he works with 12th grade students, handling their discipline, attendance and teacher concerns. Areas that he oversees include the Science Department, Advanced Placement, Student-Athlete academic issues, Campus Security, MHS Custodial staff, as well as facility issues that may occur on the 43- acre campus. Previously, he served as the administrator overseeing the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, Summer School, School Improvement Plan, Student Registration, and Homecoming/Prom.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education & Sport Management from the State University of New York at Cortland. During his time at Cortland, he ran cross-country & track and was able to study and train under Dr. Jack T. Daniels, a world-renowned exercise physiologist. Later, he earned his Master of Arts degree in Exercise Physiology & Cardiac Rehabilitation from Adelphi University. While there, he worked as a graduate assistant supervising the athletic performance lab and cardiac wellness program. Upon graduation, he worked as the Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation for several different cardiologists. He also served as the Head Coach of Men’s & Women’s Cross Country/ Track & Field at Stony Brook University. In seven seasons at Stony Brook, Meegan coached 10 All-Americans in Track & Field, and had two athletes compete in the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. He was also instrumental in designing a new, state-of-the-art strength & conditioning facility on campus. In addition, he coached several post-collegiate athletes who ran for Asics and Reebok. Before moving into school administration, he completed coursework for the Modified Core in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida.

Mrs. Jennifer Williams
Jennifer Williams was born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee. She played volleyball at King College, now known as King University, in Bristol,TN where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. In 2018, she was inducted into their Hall of Fame. Mrs. Williams went on to the University of Tennessee where she earned her Master’s degree in Secondary Science Education. She taught high school science for four years in Tennessee before moving to Brevard Public Schools in 2005. In 2013, Mrs. Williams graduated from NOVA Southeastern University with her Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership. She served as Assistant Principal/Dean from 2018-2020 at McNair Magnet Middle School and Assistant Principal of Operations from 2020-2023 at Space Coast Jr/Sr High School. Outside of education, she is an International Certified USA Volleyball Scorer and is a candidate to work the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028. Mrs. Williams’ son will also be attending Melbourne High School. He is a multi-sport athlete, and she spends most of her free time cheering him on. She is extremely excited and proud to join the Mel-High family. Go Bulldogs!

Ms. Cindy Kilmer
Mrs. Kilmer has been part of the Brevard Public Schools community since 1997. She taught 5th and 6th grade at Discovery Elementary, 8th grade social studies at Central Middle School and was the International Baccalaureate Coordinator there before her appointment as an Assistant Principal at Melbourne High School. Mrs. Kilmer has had the honor of being selected as a Teacher of the Year, Brevard County Social Studies Teacher of the Year and earned both National Board Certification and National Board Certification Renewal designations. Her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education was obtained from the University of Central Florida and she also has a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education. Mrs. Kilmer is the proud parent of two Brevard County educated children who continued their Florida education by attending Florida State colleges to earn their own degrees. She remains as dedicated to promoting student success today as she did on her first day of teaching and is committed to ensuring that all students are served with excellence as the standard.

Mr. Erik Linde
Mr. Linde graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education/History from the University of Indiana. He earned his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from American College of Education. Throughout his career in education, Mr. Linde has served Brevard Public Schools as a teacher at Cocoa Beach Jr./Sr. School, Hoover Middle School, and Edgewood Jr./Sr. High School. Then an assistant principal for 4 years at Hoover Middle School. He enjoys spending his free time with his family. Mr. Linde is proud to be a Bulldog and serving the Mel-High students.

Ms. Tanya Perez
Ms. Tanya Perez was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in English from State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1993, a Master’s Degree of Science in Education with a minor in Bilingual Education and Autism from Lehman College in 2000 and graduated with an Advanced Certificate in Administration & Supervision from Brooklyn College in 2001. She started her teaching career as Correctional Educator for District 79 in New York City Department of Education in 1993 and then was appointed Assistant Principal at Island Academy in 2002. Ms. Perez relocated to Orlando, Florida in 2013 and accepted a position of District Program Specialist for ESE for Osceola County Public Schools. In 2017, she accepted a Dean’s Position at Lake Nona High School, where her son was attended. At Lake Nona HS, she was part of the Leadership Team and coached Bowling. She is the proud parent of 2 adult children; one currently attending a Florida State College. Ms. Perez is dedicated and committed to providing excellence and quality education to Melbourne HS.
