James Rehmer is the Principal of Merritt Island High School. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Heidelberg University (AYA Education with a concentration in Biology) and his Masters in Educational Leadership from Stetson University. Mr. Rehmer is in his 13th year with Brevard Public Schools. He previously taught at Palm Bay High, Cocoa Beach Jr/Sr. High, and Heritage High School. He also served as a 10-month administrator at Melbourne High School and a 12-month administrator at DeLaura Middle School. Mr. Rehmer is married to Lindsey and has 3 children: Tanley, Hadley, and Malley.

Debbie Lubbers is the Assistant Principal over curriculum. She is a 1981 graduate of Western Michigan University and earned her M. Ed in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. Prior to coming to MIHS for the past 18 years, she served at Space Coast Jr./Sr. High as a substitute teacher, then as a Math teacher, then as Academy Director, and for the past 5 years as a Dean/AP. Her hobbies include decorating, reading, and cruising.

Robert Farrell is the Assistant Principal over facilities. He grew up in Brevard County and attended Palm Bay Elementary School, Stone Middle School, and graduated from Palm Bay High School in 1986. He joined the Marine Corps after high school and is a Gulf War Veteran. Mr. Farrell started teaching at Kennedy Middle School in 1997 and opened up Bayside High School in 1998. He taught Social Studies and coached football until becoming an administrator in 2003. Mr. Farrell has served in an administrative role at Bayside High School, West Shore Jr/Sr High School and most recently Central Middle School. Mr. Farrell holds a B.A. Degree in History and an M.S. in Educational Leadership. His hobbies are surfing, scuba diving, and going to Hurricane Football games. He is married to his wife Casie and they have one daughter, Delaney. Mr. Farrell is proud to be part of the Mustang Nation. Go Mustangs!
