Greetings, Panther Families! My name is Kassie Erenstoft, and I have the true privilege of serving as the principal here at Surfside Elementary School. This is my 16th year as an educator. During my tenure, I have worked as a classroom teacher in both primary and intermediate grade levels, been a district resource teacher and an assistant principal. I earned by Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Florida and my Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida. Currently, I am working hard on my Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Florida. I have been married for 14 years and have two amazing children, Chase and Carter. When I am not working, I enjoy spending my time watching my boys play football and basketball, reading and being outdoors. As the principal of Surfside Elementary, I have a passion to see EVERY child succeed. It is my goal to provide the most optimal learning environment possible, including a safe and nurturing campus. I look forward to the relationships I will build with students, families and staff. This journey is one that I am honored to be on and excited to take with you. Go Panthers!
I’m so happy to be a part of Surfside Elementary and welcome all of you here as well! As a resident of Satellite Beach myself, I love the spirit of our community and am most proud of the family atmosphere and involvement of our parents and business partners here in Panther Country. Being an elementary school administrator truly allows me the chance to be a part of your families for many years and I value that opportunity to work together as a team to build our village and make it even better every day!
I grew up helping my mom in the elementary school she worked in as the office clerk in Venice, Florida. We were the ‘Garden Gators’ and I later became an older GATOR student at the University of Florida in Gainesville. There I loved college life joining a sorority and the dance team and pursuing my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education and minoring in Business. During my final internship I was hired to finish out the school year for an ill teacher and taught Algebra at Gainesville Middle School. I then taught 3rd grade summer school at J.J. Finley Elementary before accepting my first full contract here in Brevard County at Turner Elementary School in Palm Bay. While teaching 6th grade I continued my education classes on the weekends through Nova Southeastern University and added Educational Leadership onto my certificate. I worked as the Elementary Specialist there at Turner and then was the Title I Coordinator at Croton Elementary School in Melbourne before becoming the Assistant Principal of Suntree Elementary School. I spent eleven years at Suntree; 8 as the AP and three as their Principal. I returned to Croton Elementary School as their Principal before my journey at Surfside began in 2011 when I elected to reduce my work responsibility and time commitment returning to the role of Assistant Principal to devote more time to my family.
My college boyfriend moved here to Brevard to join me after finishing law school. We married and have three amazing children. Caden is a freshman at the University of Central Florida and is an active part of the football program gaining experience and hoping to travel with their team to an upcoming Bowl Game! I’ve learned to wear black and gold proudly and to scream out, “Go Knights….Charge On!” My son Keathan is a Senior at Satellite High School currently and is actively applying to colleges wanting to stay in the beautiful state of Florida. I’m an incredibly happy mom about that idea! Come cheer him on during lacrosse season this Spring! My baby girl, Kamrin, is a freshman at Satellite High where she is a member of the JV Cheerleading team and the Show Choir group, Out of the Blue. She never ceases to amaze me with her desire to make others happy and apply herself whole-heartedly to her adventures! Their dad and I are so proud of them and have vowed to honorably raise them cooperatively following our divorce.
Your children are my top priority while here at Surfside. I look forward to getting to know our new families. Please don’t hesitate to start up a conversation when on campus or if you see me in the community.
Panther Pride Always!
