Ms. Linda Johnson
I just finished a fabulous experience as a Northrop Grumman STEM fellow. I was part of a group of 25 elementary and middle school teachers from around the country who participated in hands on training and an externship with Northrop Grumman to learn more about engineering careers. I have many exciting new ways to integrate STEM in my science curriculum. I have dual certification in math and science. Before teaching, I worked in industry and government using my geology and my environmental regulation training. In 2006 I became a National Board Certified for early adolescent science. Also in 2006 I received the Exemplary Science Teacher Award for Brevard County. In 2008 I won a Toyota Tapestry grant for Science and Literacy. I used the $10,000 for science equipment and enrichment instruction for the English Language Learners at Fellsmere Elementary School. I enjoy teaching middle school science because it appeals to kinesthetic learners.
