Independent Citizens Oversight Committee (ICOC)
The purpose of the Independent Citizen Oversight Committee (ICOC) is to review for appropriateness, and report on, projects and expenditures associated with the November 4, 2014, passage of a one-half cent surtax on sales. It shall be the responsibility of the ICOC to provide the School Board and the community with information related to the utilization of capital revenue generated by the one-half cent surtax on sales. Specifically, the ICOC is charged with reporting the alignment of surtax funded projects with those identified in the School District Capital Project Plan as well as the timeliness of expenditures based on the schedule of available funds.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: The Brevard County Public Schools’ Independent Citizens Oversight Committee (ICOC) is considering new member(s). An application package is available on the Independent Citizens Oversight Committee page of the Brevard Public Schools website. An application may be requested by calling 321-633-1000 ext. 11405 after October 26, 2020. Applications are due November 20, 2020 no later than 5 pm Eastern via email to ICOCapplication@brevardschools.org.

ICOC Applicant Information
The ICOC shall provide general oversight of the expenditures made through funds generated by the one-half cent surtax on sales for school facilities approved by the citizens of Brevard County on November 4, 2014. The key focus of the ICOC is to assure that the School Board's capital expenditures for mission critical Facility Renewal, Education Technology and School Security items are made in accordance with the School Board's published site-based priority list.
The ICOC is currently seeking applicants to serve a two (2)-year term. Applications must be submitted via email to ICOCapplication@brevardschools.org no later than 5:00 p.m. on November 20, 2020.
