West Shore requires 25 hours of community service each year for all students. Completing required hours will allow students to meet the volunteer requirements for Bright Futures. New changes to state law will also allow students to use paid work to qualify for Bright Futures. This option may only be used to meet West Shore requirements for students in grade 11 or 12. Any student who chooses to use paid work insead of community service must meet with the College and Career Specialist to discuss the change and complete a contract and new proposal before paid work hours can be logged.
