  • Can anyone login on a District-owned device?

    Only accounts issued to District staff and students can be used when logging into a District-owned device.

  • What if a student forgets their device at home?

    Students will be expected to bring fully charged devices to school every day in the same way that they are expected to bring other supplies to class.

  • What are the student expectations for care of the device?

    Students are responsible for the device issued to them, just as they are for other school-provided items such as textbooks, calculators, or library books.  Students and parents will be provided information in the 1:1 Handbook  outlining the use and care of the device.

  • What if a student’s device battery runs out during the day?

    Posted by:

    Students are to come to school with their device fully charged every day. When students are not using the device during the day, they will power down their device to conserve its battery life. Classrooms may be equipped with electrical outlets for emergency recharging as needed throughout the day.

  • Can students install programs and apps on their device?

    In order to prevent malicious apps, themes, or extensions from being installed, student may be restricted to installing content.  This will ensure that the devices are not bogged down with running unncessary apps or extensions that are not needed for educational purposes.

  • To what extent can my student customize the device?

    Posted by:

    Students may not adhere any decorative or personalizing stickers or labels to the device that is not provided by the school. Students may not draw or otherwise mark the device in lead, ink, or paint. However, students may change the desktop or screen saver on their device so long as the image is school appropriate.

  • Are there cameras on the device?

    The devices has a webcam built in which allows the students to take pictures and video and also for videoconferncing (i.e. Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Skype, etc.).  There are also apps that will allow for lesson recording and the ability to demonstrate specific functionality.

  • How will a student access their files if they do not have Internet access at home?

    Students can save their files to the local hard drive of their device.  Files saved to the local hard drive can be accessed with or without Internet.

  • Will Internet use be filtered?

    Posted by:

    Yes, Internet content will be filetered in compliance with CIPA regulations.  The filtering works directly on the devic regardless of where the student is obtaining their network connectivity.
