EFSC’s Coronavirus (COVID 19) Reporting Procedure for Dual Enrollment Students
Dual enrollment students who fall into one of the below categories must contact the EFSC Dean of Students Office by emailing kennedyb@easternflorida.edu or calling 321.433.5591:
- Student has been exposed to COVID-19 with or without exhibiting symptoms
- Student has tested positive for COVID-19
- Student has been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 and has been placed on quarantine
The Dean of Students’ Office will gather general information from the student and provide it to Sergeant Ricky Carswell, the College’s COVID-19 response officer.
Sergeant Carswell will call each student to collect more specific information about the student’s situation. After reviewing the details, Sergeant Carswell will inform the student when he or she may return to class in accordance with CDC guidelines.
EFSC quarantine guidelines specify that students who have had close contact with a person with COVID-19 must self-isolate for 7 days with a negative test after the 5th day, or 10 days without a test after their last exposure. The CDC definition of “close contact” may be found at: https://www.easternflorida.edu/covid-tracking/ Quarantine exceptions will be made only in accordance with CDC Guidelines.
Students unable to attend their campus EFSC classes due to quarantining should contact their EFSC instructor(s) immediately. Instructors will work with students to set up an academic support plan.
