CHECK-IN POLICY
Students are tardy if they are not in the classroom by 8:00 a.m. Students reporting to school between 8:00 a.m. and 8:10 a.m., while still marked tardy, are to report directly to their classroom. A student who arrives on campus after 8:10 a.m. MUST BE SIGNED IN BY A PARENT or guardian to obtain a tardy slip from the office, as the teacher has already completed the attendance for the day. If students are checked out of school and then returned to school before the end of the school day, they must check in through the office before reporting to their classroom. Please do your best to schedule appointments after school to minimize loss of instructional time.
CHECK-OUT POLICY
Students will not be allowed to leave school prior to the normal dismissal time unless a parent or guardian comes to school and checks them out through the front office. Parents, or other authorized adults, will be asked to show identification when signing children out, so please bring your driver’s license or other photo ID with you. Please do not call the front office or classroom to change a student’s normal departure routine except in the case of an emergency. In the event that a child’s transportation for dismissal changes, the parent must send a signed written note to the teacher or front office that clearly states the change. In order to reduce end of the school day congestion, no students will be checked out during the last 30 minutes (2:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.) unless it is an emergency or you have a doctor’s appointment card. According to School Board Policy, students are released to the parent of record only. A parent/guardian must give advance written notice to the front office when requesting a child is to be released to anyone other than designated persons listed on the white pick-up card housed in the front office.
