Bathroom Concern: We have had multiple issues with student behavior in bathrooms.  We are working on many solutions to ensure our bathrooms are safe.  Below is a message I said to all students on Wednesday…I love DeLaura.  And the number #1 reason is...our students.  I am proud of the fact that I work really hard for you.  I would do anything for you.  I want this to be the best school it can be.  However, I am very disappointed.  I am disappointed in our bathroom situation.  This year, there has been a lot of disturbing behavior in our bathrooms.  We have had vandalism, graffiti in our bathrooms and some students have made others feel uncomfortable and even intimidated in a bathroom.  This is unacceptable.  Having a clean, safe bathroom is a right each and every person should have on this campus.  Writing hateful message is unacceptable.  I need your help. Students will not be allowed to go to the bathroom in the first 10 minutes and the last 10 minutes of a class.  We may have to close some bathrooms if problems continue.  If you see something, say something.  Report issues happening in the bathroom or anywhere on campus.  You can report to the dean’s office.  Your name is not shared with anyone.  Together, we can make DeLaura safer and cleaner.  A better school starts with each one of us.

DeLaura Pizza Hut Nights: Mark your calendars.  DMS will be having a Satellite Beach Pizza Hut Gives Back 1 night a month (first Thursday of the Month Dec-May).  20% of proceeds will be donated to DeLaura.  More info coming soon.

Dress Code Reminder:  Our students should remember as part of our dress code, midriffs (stomachs) must be covered.  Their shirts must meet their pants/shorts/skirts without skin showing.  If a student is referred for a dress code violation, the student will be required to wear a school-issued shirt for the day. Sweatshirts and jackets will no longer be accepted as a cover-up after being dress coded because students tend to unzip or remove them. As a reminder, 3 dress code violations in a semester will result in a dean’s detention. Thank you for your help with this.
