  • The New Middle School Attendance Boundary Process:  

    At the January 24, 2023 School Board Workshop, the new middle school attendance boundary change process was presented.  You may view Agenda Item No. 8 HERE.  You may view the presentation at this LINK.

    On March 9, 2023 School Board Chair, Matt Susin, Assistant Superintendent, Susan Hann, and Planning Manager, Karen Black attended a community meeting held at the Faith Viera Church in Viera East to give a brief overview of the boundary process. Maps were provided showing the Viera East area enlarged with street names. Participants were encouraged to make suggestions for the new middle school boundaries on the maps. Community members were asked to visit the website and complete the community survey.

    At the March 28, 2023 School Board Workshop, the new middle school attendance boundary change process was presented along with all email and survey comments collected to date.  You may view Agenda Item No. 13  HERE.  The presentation shown below is the updated presentation.     April 3, 2023 a community meeting was held at Suntree Elementary School where School Board Chair Matt Susin, Acting Superintendent, Susan Hann, and Planning Manager, Karen Black reviewed the attendance boundary process and survey results of both the overall and Suntree specific surveys. Community members were given QR Codes to the website and encouraged to complete the community survey.

    NEXT STEPS:  School Board Meetings begin at 5:30 pm at 2700 Judge Fran Jamieson Way, Viera FL 32940 for each date listed below.

    • Information Agenda Item - April 11, 2023 (Staff recommendation will be presented to the School Board as information)
    • Action Agenda Item - April 25, 2023 (The School Board will vote to approve a Public Hearing)
    • Public Hearing - May 30, 2023 (The Public Hearing was held during the School Board meeting followed by the Board's vote to approve the new boundary including the base area plus areas 1, 2 and 3!)
