A student who commits an expellable offense may attend the Alternative Learning Center (ALC) in lieu of an expulsion. The student remains affiliated with the charter school while they are attending the ALC. The cost per student per day is $105.27 which is the responsibility of the charter school. Once the student has completed their assigned time at ALC, the charter school will be sent an invoice and supporting documentation for attendance calculations. See appendix for a sample.
BPS has a contract with Edgenuity Inc.,a software company, to serve the standard courses requirements for students who are in attendance at ALC. Should a student schedule require a course not usually offered at ALC, the school and/or parent may contract with Edgenuity Inc, to take the course for $265 per course.
