    Brevard Adult and Community Education offers Lifelong Learning courses for those who want to enhance their knowledge just for enjoyment.

  • Summer 2021 Lifelong Learning Class Offerings

    Cocoa - ParaPro Test Prep Course:  

    Math Section: June 7-18, 2021  Monday - Friday, 9am - 11:30am,  Fee: $75 

    Reading & Writing Section: June 7-18, 2021  Week 1: Monday - Thursday, Week 2 Monday - Friday  12:30 - 3pm,  Fee: $67.50

     The ParaPro Assessment measures the skills and knowledge in reading, writing and math possessed by prospective and practicing paraprofessionals/instructional assistants. It also measures their ability to apply those skills and knowledge when assisting in classroom instruction. It was designed to satisfy the requirements of the federally legislated No Child Left Behind Act.

    • This class is for those interested in working as a paraprofessional in a classroom who do not yet have a 2-year degree.
    • Class will be taught at Clearlake Education Center - 1225 Clearlake Rd, Cocoa, Fl 32922.
    • These classes cover all subjects on the ParaPro Assessment.
    • Fees for each section includes ALL class sessions for that subject.

    • There will be no class on July 5, 2021 the class will meet on July 7, 2021.
    • This is the first class of a sequence of classes. This will cover sections 1-4 in the textbook.

    Spanish 1A on Zoom: June 8 to July 13, 2021, TUESDAYS, 3 to 5pm

    • This is the first class of a sequence of classes. This will cover sections 1-4 in the textbook.

    Spanish 1B on Zoom: June 7 to July 12, 2021, MONDAYS, 5:30 to 7:30pm

    • There will be no class on July 5, 2021 the class will meet on July 7, 2021.
    • This is the second class in a sequence of classes. This will cover sections 5-8 in the textbook.

    Spanish 1C on Zoom: June 8 to July 13, 2021, TUESDAYS, 5:30 to 7:30pm 

    • This is the third class of a sequence of classes. This will cover sections 9-12 in the textbook.

    Through our practical, interactive, and fun classes, you will learn to speak and read Spanish. This will allow you to be competitive in the labor market and also allow you to participate in an amazing cultural experience. With more than 50 million Hispanics living in the United States, learning Spanish can be extremely beneficial for anyone looking to expand their careers or simply enrich their personal lives to interact with a growing demographic.

    *NEW* WATERCOLOR Painting Basic Technique Class: Clearlake Education Center - May 19 to June 9, 2021  5:30 to 7:30pm

    Studio artist will guide students through basic watercolor techniques to create one watercolor painting. Students will complete and take home their painting after 4 classes. Students can get their art supplies from us, such as canvases, paint brushes, and paint (there will be an extra material fee). Come relax and have some fun with us!

    Microsoft Office Word 

    Cocoa - Room 135 June 8, 15, 22, 23, 29, 30, 2021  From 4 to 6pm

    The Microsoft Office Word beginning course is an introduction to Word and more. The class will equip students to become proficient and increase their skills in Microsoft Office Word for the workplace and personal use. Students may choose to prepare to earn their Microsoft Office Specialist certification by passing the MOS Word exam after taking this course. There is an additional $75 fee to take the MOS Word exam.

    • Students must possess basic computer skills before enrolling.

    Microsoft Office Excel

    Palm Bay High- Room 14-107 June 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 28, 2021  From 4 to 6pm

    The Microsoft Office Excel beginning course is an introduction to Excel and more. The class will equip students to become proficient and increase their skills in Microsoft Office Excel for the workplace and personal use.
