• It’s a Great Day to be a Panther!

Well, is this really the last month of the school year? I have to say—this was a very challenging year, yet sticking together as a team has made all the difference for our students.

Cambridge testing season has begun, and the FSA/EOC state testing season starts today. This year is a rebound opportunity for all our students since we are back in the testing cycle. As we begin the school graded testing window, please remind your students that getting plenty of rest and doing your best on the test is the Panther way.

We were able to hold prom this year for the first time in quite a while at the Hilton in Melbourne. The students were excited and dressed for success. I was very pleased to see so many students being able to celebrate senior experiences once again.

It has been a challenging year, yet it’s been a success in my mind because of you and the wonderful students we have attending our school. Graduation is just around the corner and I can’t wait. As I begin to look at all the accomplishments our students have achieved, it is very impressive. I will save much of the details for my graduation speech, but I just wanted to mention we have more students eligible to sit for Cambridge exams than we have had before. As a matter of fact, for each Cambridge exam a student passes, they will receive college credit that will transfer to their university of choice. If they earn a Cambridge diploma, the student will earn the Bright Futures School which pays 100% tuition to a university in Florida. In addition, we have the Collegiate High School program that gives students opportunities to graduate with an AA Degree. This is made possible because of the wonderful partnership the district has developed with EFSC.

Daily as I speak with students about their future 5-year-plans, so many of them mentioned our Sports’ Medicine program and how they plan to have a career in the medical field. Other students often talk about our ROTC program and joining the military to serve their country proudly, like I once did. Students are engaged in paying internships today via our Automotive Program with more to follow each year. High school prepares students for a job or post-secondary education right after they graduate. As your students prepare to graduate or for their next year in high school, make sure you discuss their future plans at a college or in a career. If you need any assistance deciding which way to go in your student’s quest, please don’t hesitate to call me or our Guidance department as we all work together to help build a better future for all.

As always, it is an honor for me to lead the best school in business and I am looking forward to a great remainder of the 2022 school year.

    Go Big Blue!
