  • About Mrs. Smith -

    Pinewood Community,

It is with great pleasure that I am able to say I am the principal at Pinewood Elementary! Pinewood staff, students and families are some of the best around. This community is a place that I hold close to my heart as myself and many generations of my family have grown up down the street from Pinewood. To serve in the area that is my home is a unique blessing.

I began teaching in Brevard County in 2011. I have worked at a few different elementary schools in our area in various positions throughout the school. I truly believe everyone has the ability to learn and thrive at school and it is our job to find a way to make that happen. School should be a safe place for all students to come and be their true selves. My door is always open and building strong relationships with each student is something I believe can make all the difference in the world.

I attended the University of Central Florida where I received my bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 2011 and then attended the University of West Florida where I received my master’s degree in educational leadership in 2020. In addition to my professional achievements, my greatest accomplishment is my family. My husband, Daniel, and I pride ourselves in being very family oriented and instilling strong core values within our children. We enjoy spending time with our children, Bryce and Addilyn. We love going to the beach, attending Bryce’s baseball games, watching Addi dance, fishing and just being outside together!

In closing, please know that I am always available to you, welcome your conversation and am always open to positive input. Let’s work together to keep students our primary focus. Please always feel free to reach out to me by emailing Smith.amber@brevardschools.org or call the front office.
