Ms. Lundy, Stone Magnet Middle School Principal

Dear Parents and Guardians,

It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the new Principal of Stone Magnet Middle School. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such rich culture and dedication to their students. I have been devoted to the field of education for more than 15 years. I have worked as an Exceptional Education Teacher, AVID teacher, Math teacher, ESE Contact through guidance services, Dean and Assistant Principal of Curriculum. I am eager to bring my passion for kids and student learning to Stone Magnet Middle School and work with you as partners to ensure your child’s success.

I spent my first week as Principal, visiting every classroom, observing students annotating text, team building, learning algebraic equations, asking questions, playing volleyball and basketball and participating in class discussions. I watched our teachers and staff build relationships, create fun learning environments, collaborate with each other and work for their student’s smiles. It was truly a remarkable week!

I look forward to working with our staff, parents, and community partners to continue to build strong relationships with students, use data to monitor learning progress, accelerate learning and continue to create an inviting, fun learning environment. It is my hope we all work together to provide our students with the best opportunities in preparing for high school and post-secondary education.

I am excited to tie my experience, passion and student centered approach to support our students. In saying this, relationships between families and the school are vital to the success of our students and I welcome your support!

Finally, please join me at my Principal’s Meet and Greet, August 31st, 5:30 PM-6:00 PM in the media center (prior to our Open House: August 31st at 6:00 PM).

Sincerely,

Courtney Lundy

Proud Principal of Stone Magnet Middle School
