  • Welcome to the Division of Educational Technology which includes the offices of Managemenet Information Systems, Instructional Technology, Technology Support Services, and Information Systems Services.

  • Russell Cheatham, Chief Information Officer

    Russell Cheatham is the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Technology/Chief Information Officer. In this capacity he oversees the offices of Information Technology, Instructional Technology, Management Information Services (MIS), and Educational Technology Projects.  

    Mr. Cheatham is a lifelong Brevard resident.  He started his career as a Network Administrator and went on to serve as Computer Programmer, Systems Analyst, Applications Supervisor, and Director of MIS for Brevard Public schools. Mr. Cheatham holds a bachelor’s of science degree in computer information systems from Jacksonville University and a master’s degree in educational technology. He is a sitting board member of Florida’s Association of MIS (FAMIS).

    Russell has a passion for technology and loves to see how it can positively change our lives. He prides himself on making technology easy to understand while building opportunities for collaboration throughout the organization.

Office of Instructional Technology

  • The Division of Instructional Technology and Customer Service is comprised of a group of teacher technology integrators that leverage technology in the classroom to improve student engagement and performance outcomes.  The team also works with administrators and staff to advance the use of technology tools for digital workflow and collaboration through a variety of professional development offerings. Additionally this office includes the Help Desk specialists whom serve as a first point of contact for users experiencing issues or needing technical support.

Office of Information Systems Services

  • The Division of Information Systems Services supports all aspects of teacher, student and support staff technology access needs.  Internet, bandwidth connectivity, software applications, management and maintenance of all technology devices are paramount in our mission.  108 staff members strategically support over 100,000 technology critical components relating to network and infrastructure across all Brevard Public schools.

Office of Management Information Systems

  • The Division of Managment Information Services (MIS) is responsible for the core data and software applications that run both student and business aspects of the district.  They provide various levels of training, support, and custom programming for a multitude of systems.  The division also includes a wealth of of computing operation professionals that ensure systems are running at peak capacity 24/7.

Office of Technology Support Services

  • The Division of Technology Support Services provides support and infrastructure needs to the teachers, staff and students of Brevard Public Schools. This is done primarily through our Technical Support Services (TSS) department. Duties range from the repair of computers and classroom equipment to cabling installations and new equipment evaluations.
