    Music Program

Welcome to the Stevenson Music Department Edline site for the 2015-16 school year.   Thank you so much for your continued support of this music program and the privilege to teach your children.  I appreciate deeply the participation of all who took part in this summer's music camp.  It is truly an honor!  I invite and encourage you to view this music site on a regular basis, as mportant information about the music classes, permission forms, audition requirements, and teaching aids/materials will be located here.  I am trying to go as paperless as possible this year.

I am excited for the upcoming school year, as we will be offering string orchestra and concert band for arts block in 4th, 5th, and 6th Grade.  Meeting dates for these ensembles are as follows:

String Orchestra - for 4th, 5th, and 6th Grade and will meet during the child's Monday arts block selection.  In addition, 5th Grade Strings will meet on Monday mornings from 8:00-8:45 A.M. and the 6th Grade Strings will meet Wednesday mornings from 8:00-8:45 A.M.  If you would like to learn how to play a violin, viola, cello, or bass, this is the ensemble for you!

Concert Band - for 4th, 5th, and 6th Grade and will meet during the child's Wednesday arts block selection.  If you would like to learn how to play a flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, bells, or snare drum, this is the ensemble for you!

Concert Choir will be open to all interested vocal students who are in 4th, 5th, and 6th Grade.  This ensemble will rehearse on Fridaymornings prior to school from 8:00 to 8:45 A.M.   If you like to sing and perform in the public, this is your big chance!

All three ensembles will be highly visible within the school and public.

PLEASE NOTE:  All students in Grades 3 through 6 will need a three-ring binder, notebook paper, composer's manuscript/staff paper, and at least 2 or 3 pencils for general music class and for any ensemble the the child is performing in.  This is a requirement!!!

Congratulations to the following students for their acceptance and performance at the 2016 Brevard All-County Music Festival this past Saturday, February 27th at the King Center for the Performing Arts at the Eastern Florida State University in Melbourne.
