Mrs. Donohue, Assistant Principal

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with a minor in history and concentrations in education and political science from the University of Central Florida. After realizing I had embarked on my greatest journey becoming an educator, I decided to continue my advanced studies at Grand Canyon University earning a M.Ed. in Educational Administration and M.A.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction.

I began my career in education in Brevard County Public Schools where I taught at Atlantis Elementary and Imperial Estates Elementary. In 2012, my husband was relocated to Greenville, South Carolina for work. While in Greenville I continued to teach elementary age students at Bethel Elementary. When I returned to Brevard Public Schools in 2015, I expanded my expertise beyond the classroom becoming an instructional coach for literacy at Anderson Elementary and Sherwood Elementary. My leadership journey continued, and I became the guidance service professional at Jackson Middle School and served at that capacity for two years before becoming the assistant principal of discipline. In 2021, I was promoted as the assistant principal of discipline at Eau Gallie High School before accepting the promotion to be the assistant principal of curriculum here at Madison Middle School.

Throughout my career in Education, I have received several recognitions and awards: 2011 Florida District Teacher of the Year, Area IV Teacher of the Year, 2014 Bethel Elementary PTA Teacher of the Year, and the 2014 Bethel Reading Teacher of the year finalist.  In addition, I founded the National Elementary Honor Society at both Atlantis Elementary School and Imperial Estates Elementary School allowing our elementary students the opportunity to be recognized as accomplished scholars and serve our community through volunteer opportunities. In 2015, I founded the Brevard Public School’s Teacher Leadership Council and served as the Executive Director for seven years.

I am a Titusville native and have a strong desire to serve my community here in North Brevard. As an educator and instructional leader my greatest passion is building the capacity of my teachers and students. I look forward to working with our stakeholders to ensure our students are successful, feel valued, and build upon their educational and professional goals allowing them to be college and career ready. We ARE Madison!
