Principal

Hi my name is Susie Schroeder and I have the great privilege of being the Principal of Meadowlane Primary Elementary.  I am a product of Brevard Public Schools attending Ocean Breeze Elementary, DeLaura Junior High and Satellite High School in my youth.  I received my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Clemson University and my Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida.  I have been married to my college sweetheart for 28 years and we have three amazing children ages 22, 23 and 24 of whom we are very proud.

I am exceptionally proud of the teachers and staff of MPE and the commitment they have to their students and this community. We have a very special school, the only one of its kind in the district, housing only Kindergarten through Second Grade students on our campus.  This allows us the opportunity to truly focus on the development of the whole child through academics, social interactions and emotional supports.  Our teachers have a strong focus in their classrooms on building early literacy through reading, writing and speaking as well as problem solving, while building students confidence and independence. We are proud to serve our students and their families and be an integral part of the West Melbourne Community.

Assistant Principal

Although I did not move to Florida until I was 11, I am now a Florida girl at heart – I love going to the beach, reading in the sun and wearing flip-flops!  I enjoy spending time with my family, too, which includes my husband, my daughter Allie, who is in 4th grade at Meadowlane Intermediate, and my cute 10 pound dog, Barley.  I am a Gators fanatic and my blood truly runs orange and blue!  I attended the University of Florida for 5 years while I earned both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education.  Later, I also earned a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of West Florida.  I have been a part of the Meadowlane family since 2004, when I moved to West Melbourne and started teaching 1st grade.  Since then, I have also had  opportunities to teach TK-1, Kindergarten and Computer Education, and I am honored to now serve Meadowlane Primary’s students, families and teachers as the Assistant Principal.  I feel lucky that I get to support the academic, social and emotional growth of young students every day and could not be more proud to be part of the fabulous Meadowlane Mustang community!
