  • About Mrs. Hamilton

From left to right, J.D. (stands for John's Dog), Arlo (passed away 8/17/18), and Mongo. I love animals, in fact, I don't eat, wear, or use them. I feel they have the same rights of love, kindness, and respect as humans.

This photo of me was from a makeover contest I won for the work I do with kids and k9's.

I have been teaching 27 years and the last 17 in gifted education. I love teaching gifted students because they are our future and guiding them on the path of leadership is a challenge, but gratifying. The ideas they bring to the table still astounds me!

  • Chairs for Charity Art History

Art history study of Ancient Greece, Renaissance, Early American, Impressionist, Modern. Groups of students studied different eras and the aspects of the period. Then individually the students selected an artist of their time, researched him/her, then created an original piece using the same media and added their research to their art. Finally, in pairs, students recreated an original painting onto a chair but changed the human into a dog or cat. The classroom was turned into a museum for parent night selling the chairs in a silent auction with the funds donated to the Canine Commandos.

    Venus is now a corgi!
