  • Middle School Sports have changed for the 20-21 school year.

Brevard Public Schools has made the decision to switch seasons for Middle School Track and Middle School Basketball. Since we are one of a few schools unique with being a Jr/Sr High School our 7th and 8th grade students have more opportunities to participate in Varsity Sports. Additionally we have many multi sport student/athletes playing fall and spring sports. Due to our unique situation we have made the decision to allow our 7th and 8th grade students to participate with our Varsity track team and compete in the spring.

Track athletes stay tuned for more information later this year regarding starting dates for track and other sports competing during the spring semester.

  • Brevard Public Schools Fall Athletics 2020-2021

    Greetings Beach,

Brevard Public Schools has released its Fall Athletics Plan for the 2020-2021 school year.

Please know this plan is subject to change as new data and recommendations from the CDC, local health departments, NFHS and State Florida regarding COVID-19 is shared with BPS.

When you read the attached publication from Brevard Public Schools be aware that Divisions and Schedules might change over the course of the next few days as Principals and Athletic Directors meet to discuss any necessary adjustments needed to improve the support and experience of our students.

No plan is ever perfect but know we will work earnestly in the best interest of our students at Cocoa Beach Jr/Sr High School and the Cocoa Beach community to keep athletics safe and open as long as possible.

The primary focus of this plan and any plan for athletics is first and foremost with the health and safety of our students and community in mind while ensuring efforts to keep our programs open and running are maintained.

Under the current plan Universal Precautions to limit and hopefully prevent the spread of COVID - 19 are required. Our staff will make every effort to make sure these precautions are met, but we need everyone's help to make this happen.

Not included with this initial plan is information about how Middle School Athletics will operate this year. We expect to have more details regarding MS athletics by the end of the week.

Please join us in showing our Beach Pride by working together with our coaching staff as we implement this plan for Fall Sports 2020.

Please read the statement below from Brevard Public Schools:

Brevard Public Schools will remain in Stage 1 of our Return to Activity (RTA) Plan and will monitor feedback from the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA), the FHSAA Sports Medicine Advisory Council, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Florida Department of Health, as we continue to consider a plan to safely return our staff and students to athletics in the fall. Fall sports teams will not begin formal practice at this time, but may continue conditioning as outlined in Stage 1 of the district’s RTA.
