    Senior Class of 2023

Senior year has arrived!  Below are confirmed dates for senior activities.  As soon as other dates are confirmed, we will send out notification and we will update this page.  Please READ the electronic newsletter that is emailed by MIHS every Friday afternoon.  Up-to-date information is located in the newsletter, on this web page, through Instagram (follow merrittislandhighschool) and Facebook MIHS MPO page.  In addition to dates scheduled, we have outlined senior events that are TBA so that families know what to expect during this special time!

Universal's GRAD Bash is scheduled for April 22nd.

This is a SENIORS ONLY event hosted by Universal.  High school seniors from around the country attend this event. The bus leaves school at 5:30pm and returns back to MIHS at approximately 3am.  The cost is $139 and includes the transportation and entrance into this special event.  Individual cars and Universal passes are not accepted as per Universal policy.  The Senior Class will have these tickets available on a first come first served basis. There are 50 seats per bus.  Once a bus is filled up, we will open up the next bus. This is not a fundraiser for the senior class so the busses must be full for that bus of students to go to Universal.  Tickets will go on sale January 12th through January 21st.

These forms can be found in the front office or Ms. Taylor’s room, D-119.   Please contact Ms. Taylor, Senior Class Sponsor for any questions.

Closer to graduation, you will want to review the following activities.  We have explained each event and the dates will be added as they become available.

CLASS NIGHT: (Typically the night before the graduation ceremony.)

Who should attend? Graduating class of 2023 and their families.

What is Class Night? An evening dedicated to honoring and celebrating seniors at MIHS. The Senior video is shown.

Where will Class Night be held? TBD depending on when the district determines our graduation date.

WHEN should seniors arrive and WHAT should they be wearing?  Seniors should arrive at 6:00pm WEARING their Cap and Gown. Seniors will line up in F-Wing and proceed into auditorium as a group while “Pomp and Circumstance” is played.  Seniors will be seated in the Orchestra section throughout Class Night. Family members will be in the audience.

Class Night will be approximately an hour long and refreshments and photo opportunities are available immediately following in the decorated Commons.

This evening is considered the beginning of graduation celebrations!  GRADUATION BREAKFAST - TBD - typically the day of the graduation ceremony.

Seniors should arrive at 9am for the senior breakfast catered with Chik Fil A, fresh fruit, oversized muffins, cookies, and drinks!

MANDATORY GRADUATION PRACTICE is immediately following breakfast.   Seniors will be given instructions on when to arrive, what to wear under their robes, and appropriate shoes. (Very high heels are not recommended as it is a LONG walk from the cafeteria, down the road, and onto the field.  Due to the artificial turf, spiked heels are not allowed.)
