Principal - Longleaf Elementary School

As the proud principal of Longleaf Elementary, I would like to welcome you to our school webpage.  I had the honor of joining the Longleaf Team in 2016.  I grew up in Orlando, but also spent some of my early years in Hawaii as my father served in the Navy.  I come from a long line of educators.  I attended Flagler College in St. Augustine and received a dual Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education.  I received my Master and Doctorate Degrees in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida.   My educational journey began in 1991 as an exceptional education teacher.  Over the past 12 years, I have served as an ESE Support Specialist, Assistant Principal, Director, and Principal.  I have over 27 years of experience in the education field in a variety of roles across all grade levels.  I feel so fortunate to have so many amazing school experiences and memories, and to be a part of the Longleaf family.

My passion is providing a high-quality education for all students and developing well rounded citizens who will make a positive impact on the world and future generations.  It is so important that we stretch and challenge young minds to reach their fullest potential.  One of my most important roles is providing a safe learning environment that includes the supports and resources necessary for students to acquire the knowledge and skills to be successful.  I value and appreciate input from all stakeholders and working together we will continue to make our school the best it can be.  Education is a life-long journey.  For the future success of our children, we can never stop learning and improving.  A collaborative school environment is the key to enriching the lives of our students at Longleaf.  It takes the combined efforts of students, staff, parents, and community members to make the difference.

Longleaf Elementary is recognized by the state of Florida as a School of Excellence, a 5 Star School, Florida Arts Model School, PBIS School and internationally recognized as a Model for Professional Learning Communities.  Our amazing staff is dedicated and passionate about helping all children grow into the best version of themselves.  We look forward to working together with you to continue the tradition of excellence at Longleaf.  It’s going to be another great year ahead!  Go BOBCATS!!
