Principal - Meara Trine
Our principal, Mrs. Meara Trine, graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida. She grew up in Brevard County and is a product of Brevard Public Schools. She has worked at the elementary, middle, and high school level and served as a basic education teacher, an inclusion teacher, a gifted teacher, a title one coordinator, a reading coach, a dean, an assistant principal, and a principal prior to joining the Jefferson team. She is a proud resident of Merritt Island and is thrilled to have the ability to work in her home community. She has two daughters, Mia and Melina, and is the wife of Matthew Trine, Finance and Risk Management Director for the City of Rockledge. Mrs. Trine is dedicated to continuing Jefferson’s tradition of excellence in the years to come.
Assistant Principal - Barbara Kelly
Barbara Kelly has been working for Brevard Public Schools since 2003 when she and her family moved down here from Pennsylvania. She began her educational career as an English teacher at Southwest Middle School and moved over to Viera High School when they opened in 2006 where she held several leadership positions during her 14 years there. At Viera, she started as an English teacher and was moved to the position of English Department Chair and the Director of the Academies at Viera High for the past nine years. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in New Jersey and then earned her M.Ed in Educational Leadership at the University of Central Florida. Ms. Kelly was appointed as dean at Central Middle School in October 2020 and took over as AP at Jefferson in February of 2022. She is excited to build positive relationships with the faculty, students, and parents.
Assistant Principal / Dean - Pamela AlbrightPamela Albright graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Exceptional Child Education from the University of Central Florida and has a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Capella University. Mrs. Albright grew up in Brevard County and graduated from Cocoa High. She has taught at Cambridge Elementary and Cocoa Jr/Sr High, as well as Watford Jr/Sr High and Badlands Elementary in North Dakota. She has also served as the Guidance Service Professional, PBIS Coordinator, Student Advisory Committee Chair, and Night Supervisor at Brevard Adult and Community Education Center. Mrs. Albright has 9 children and has been married for 25 years. She is blessed to be a part of the Jefferson Family and is looking forward to the success of our students and staff this year.
