    Principal - Meara Trine

         Our principal, Mrs. Meara Trine, graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida.  She grew up in Brevard County and is a product of Brevard Public Schools.  She has worked at the elementary, middle, and high school level and served as a basic education teacher, an inclusion teacher, a gifted teacher, a title one coordinator, a reading coach, a dean, an assistant principal, and a principal prior to joining the Jefferson team.  She is a proud resident of Merritt Island and is thrilled to have the ability to work in her home community.  She has two daughters, Mia and Melina, and is the wife of Matthew Trine, Finance and Risk Management Director for the City of Rockledge.  Mrs. Trine is dedicated to continuing Jefferson’s tradition of excellence in the years to come.

    Assistant Principal - Lena Koch

         Ms. Koch grew up in West Virginia and went to Concord University.  She earned her Master’s in Education at Nova Southeastern University.  She started her teaching career as a PUSH in teacher in Maryland and then as a computer/business teacher.   Her family relocated to FL, and she taught Business Education at Eau Gallie High School for 16 years.  She became an Assistant Principal at Kennedy Middle in 2006, before being asked by the District to help at Clearlake.  When Clearlake closed, she made the transition to Space Coast Jr/Sr High School, where she became well versed in graduation requirements  Now, she is happy to be at the most awesome middle school, Jefferson! 


         She has been married for 31 years to Scott and has 3 grown children.   Natassia is a nurse in Altamonte Springs, Joshua teaches music in Jacksonville and Lauren is a mechanical engineer in Tampa.

     Assistant Principal / Dean - Michael Williamson 

         Micheal Williamson graduated with a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education from Bowling Green State University and a master's degree in Exceptional Education from Xavier University. He grew up in southwest Ohio around the Cincinnati area and moved to Brevard County in 2014. Mr. Williamson has served as an inclusion teacher at Eau Gallie and Cocoa High Schools from 2014-2021. Prior to moving to Brevard County, he served as an inclusion teacher, a gifted teacher, a history teacher, a drama teacher and worked with students in grades 4-12 throughout his career. He has one daughter Agnes-Pearl and is the husband of Caroline Williamson, who also serves the Brevard County School District. He enjoys camping, swimming, kayaking, and spending time with his family.
