Dear Freedom 7 families,
I proudly joined the Freedom 7 family as principal in January 2019. Communication and relationships are important to me and joining Freedom 7 to serve our teachers, students and their families will be the focus of my work.
We have tried to post all information that we believe you will find helpful, based on input from our school community. As an authorized IB Primary Years Program School, our philosophy, goals and curriculum are aligned to meet IB requirements. I encourage you to use the links provided to search the International Baccalaureate Organization's web site for more information about this accredited worldwide school network.
Over the past several years, Freedom 7 has celebrated exemplary student achievement and continue to rank at the top of our state, in overall academic performance. This success is due to the amazing commitment of our outstanding staff and exceptional support from parents and community members. I couldn’t be more excited about the possibilities for our students in the future.

Assistant Principal's Message
It is with great pleasure that I accept the Assistant Principal position at Freedom 7 Elementary School of International Studies and I look forward to getting to know each of the members of the Freedom 7 Family personally, and will work hard to meet the needs of our students, parents, faculty, and staff. I am passionate about STEM education, academic competitions, and encourage a positive and inclusive environment of respect and global responsibility where we can serve, teach, and learn about the world around us.
I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Reading Education K-12 from Florida International University in 1995, and a Specialist in Education in Educational Leadership from American College of Education in 2019. I have Gifted and ESOL Endorsement and certified in Clinical Supervision.
I have been an educator for 19 years, with nine years in Miami-Dade County Schools and the last 10 years with the Diocese of Orlando. I have held several administrative roles with the most recent being the STEM Enrichment /Gifted Education Director for Grades 1-8, Science Research Coordinator for Grades 7-8; Professional Development Staff Coordinator, and Mentor Teacher.
I was born and raised in Miami, Florida, of Cuban-Spanish heritage and fluent in English and Spanish. My husband and I have a beautiful blended family of seven children ranging in age from 24 to 11, with four boys and three girls. Four of the children are in college, but when they come home, you will often find us together on the beach, attending church, traveling as a family, dancing to Latin rhythms on a local ballroom dance floor or watching and playing basketball and soccer as a hobby.
Again, I am humbled to serve as your new Assistant Principal and will work closely with Mrs. Lott to ensure the continued success of the Freedom 7 Community.
