Ms. Meg McGivney

Ms. McGivney is a Titusville native, as she grew up and went to Imperial Estates, Jackson Middle School, and Titusville High School. She is a graduate of Brevard County School's music programs. She completed her degree in Elementary Education with a minor of music from The Florida State University and then taught at an Arts Magnet school in Tallahassee, FL for 2 years. She then moved to Chicago, where she started an orchestra program for inner city students from the ground up. During that time, she received her masters degree in music education from Vandercook College of Music. After 10 year teaching in Chicago, she returned to her hometown and took the position as choral and orchestra director here at Madison Middle School.

Mr. Dustin E. Werner

Mr. Werner is a native of Columbus, Ohio. He has been the band director at Madison MS since 2006. Mr. Werner’s bands have received regional and national recognition for excellence in the arts. His band was the 1991 Bands of America Southeast Regional Champion in Johnson City, TN, the 1994 Bands of America Eastern Regional Champion in Morgantown, WV, and the 1994 Bands of America Class AAA National Champion in Indianapolis, IN. His bands have performed in 26 different states throughout his career. Since his arrival at Madison MS, Mr. Werner’s Jazz Bands have been named the top MS Jazz Band at the Lakeside Jazz Festival, in Port Orange, FL, in 2008 and 2016. Mr. Werner has a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the Ohio State University and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Ashland University. Mr. Werner is a father of 4 and currently has 5 grandchildren.
