How do I accept jobs as a substitute?
Posted by:Brevard Public Schools uses an automated service called Red Rover to manage substitute jobs. Red Rover is available 24/7 to search for and accept or decline available jobs, set up your calendar, and view upcoming assignments or past assignments. To sign into Red Rover, click here. How do I know if my absence was cancelled?
Posted by:Check your email before you leave home. Substitutes may cancel an absence coverage up to 24 hours prior to the absence. If you must cancel your absence within 24 hours, please contact the school as soon as possible.

How do I resign my job as a Substitute?
Posted by:You can complete the Substitute Resignation Form by clicking here or you can email substitutes@brevardschools.org.

How do I obtain a badge?
Posted by:Substitutes are issued a temporary badge by the school they are subbing for each day. You can ask for this badge when you sign in at the school's front office.

I closed my bank account. How do I establish a new direct deposit?
Posted by:Fill out a new Direct Deposit Authorization form along with a voided blank check and submit to the Payroll department.

May I substitute at a Charter and/or Private School?
Posted by:Charter and/or Private Schools are not a part of Brevard Public Schools. You must contact them directly to find out if you may substitute for their school.

What are the substitute pay rates?
Posted by:If you substitute as teacher, your hourly rate is based on your level of education up to a Bachelor's degree. If you substitute as a classroom assistant, the pay rate is $15.00 per hour. For more information regarding substitute salaries, see Substitute Pay Rates.

What do I do if I have been paid incorrectly?
Posted by:Each school is responsible for their own substitute payroll. Substitutes are encouraged to maintain their own records and the associated job numbers. Red Rover is an excellent history tool to help you determine which school may not have paid you correctly. When you determine where the discrepancy is, contact that school directly to discuss it. Any discrepancies should first be verified with the school site at which the discrepancy exists. In the event of an error, the school will submit a payroll correction.

What does it mean to be excluded?
Posted by:To be excluded by a school means that you have been sent an official letter from that school, informing you that you are not welcome to substitute at that school anymore.

How may exclusions may I receive?
Posted by:If your are excluded from three (3) schools, you will be terminated as a substitute. You will receive an official letter from the district.

What does the ID mean in front of a job title?
Posted by:A job title that begins with ID means that this job is for an Exceptional Education Teacher and is paid your substitute rate. Other Exceptional Education Teacher job titles include:
SLD
VE-SLD
EBD
VE-EMOT/BEHAVIOR DISABILITY
VE-ID

What is the minimum number of days that I must substitute each school year?
Posted by:You must substitute at least 30 hours each year to maintain your substitute status.
We do not include charter or private schools.

Where do I find my first paycheck?
Posted by:If your first paycheck is due prior to your direct deposit being established (may take up to 45 business days to process), your first check will be a paper check and will be available for pick up at your home school for pickup.

Where is my paycheck stub and what is MIC?
Posted by:MIC, or My Information Center, is the payroll program that allows you to view and print your paycheck stub. To access your MIC account, please click here.
