Healthcare Classes at RHS

Rockledge High school offers the following Dual Enrollment courses on the RHS campus during the regular school day:
- HSCC 1000 Introduction to Healthcare (3 credit hours)
- HSC 1532 Advanced Medical Terminology (3 credit hours)
To be eligible, students must have completed the 9th grade, have a 2.5 cumulative, unweighted GPA, and have college placement test scores on file (no minimum score requirement). Students must also complete the EFSC online application and orientation prior to the start of class. Please see the Placement Testing and Orientation pages for more details. Registration paperwork for each course will be completed in class at the start of each semester.
It is recommended that students who intend to apply to the Patient Care Assisting program (senior year) take these courses.
Patient Care Assisting (PCA)

The Patient Care Assisting Program offers vocational credits through EFSC which will lead students to be eligible to obtain their Certified Nursing Assitant (CNA) license, as well as other certifications along the way. See the Career and Technology Education page for more information.
Eligible students (2.0 cumulative, unweighted GPA) must apply to the program during spring semster of their junior year, as space is limited. Accepted students must also have college placement test scores on file (no minimum score requirement) and complete the EFSC online application and orienation prior to the start of class. Please see the Placement Testing and Orienation pages for more details. Registration paperwork for each course will be completed in class at the start of each semester.
The program consists of four courses which will be completed over two semesters.
