Holiday Message from Mr. Fleming

Good Friday Afternoon Wildcats,

First of all I would like to thank our entire school community for helping take prudent steps to protect your friends and family during this historic crisis that continues to plague our everyday life. As we listen and read about COVID cases surging around the country I wish I could report that we are immune to the epidemic. Unfortunately, COVID seems to have to drive everything in our daily lives and we at West Shore have had our share of “issues” related to contact tracing and quarantines. It is with this in mind that I humbly ask for your continued support as we navigate this landscape together. On campus we appear to be managing pretty well but unfortunately lose the ability to closely monitor as our students go about their daily lives outside of school. I applaud the effort of our parents who have been diligent at notifying us in the event a child begins to show symptoms at home as this is extremely helpful in our exhaustive work of contact tracing cases. I know it has not been easy, especially to receive a call from one of us about a possible case and/or quarantine. I once again humbly ask that we all continue to follow the CDC guidelines of wearing masks and avoiding large indoor gatherings where social distancing cannot be achieved. As hard as it is to limit our exposure to others; especially that of our teenagers with one another, it can be a game changer in spreading or not spreading the virus.  As we move into Thanksgiving and the Holidays our collective prudence is ever more important and I thank you in advance for your exhaustive work as parents in balancing keeping your children safe with the social needs that they so desperately crave. All of our jobs are hard indeed and please know that we at West Shore are with you every step of this journey. Please accept my very best wishes for a safe weekend and ensuing Thanksgiving in the coming weeks and please DO NOT hesitate to contact us should you have any questions, comments, or concerns.

Go Wildcats!!!!
