Summer Food Service Program Extended to June 30, 2021
Viera, FL: We are pleased to announce that the United States Department of Agriculture has issued an updated meal flexibility waiver to extend the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) through June 30, 2021. The purpose of this extension is to ensure children continue to have access to nutritious meals during the coronavirus pandemic. This flexibility allows Brevard Public Schools (BPS) to offer meals at no charge to all children ages 18 and younger.
Although meals are free for all students through the end of the school year, it is important that interested families apply for Free and Reduced priced meal benefits for the 2020-21 school year if they have not done so already.
BPS encourages all families to complete a meal application, as qualifying applications generate educational funding for all of our schools. In addition, students with an approved application may be eligible for other benefits beyond free and reduced priced meals. Free and Reduced Price Meal Applications may be completed online at www.brevardschools.org/page/3473.
The following schools will continue to offer both breakfast and lunch meals at no charge to all students regardless of status through the end of the 2020-21 school year:
