District Statement on Nationwide Trending Social Media School Threats
The school district, each BPS school and law enforcement are aware of warnings trending on social media regarding threats of violence on Friday, December 17th nationally. There is no evidence that there is any credibility to the social media posts. We expect Friday to be a normal school day and students should be in attendance.
We are asking you to speak with your children about the serious nature of making a school threat. They are NEVER a “joke” and they will not be treated lightly under any circumstances. Any threat made will be investigated to the fullest extent and serious consequences will follow. Please help your children understand that some of these consequences carry life-long repercussions.
Thank you for investing in your children’s education and for your commitment to helping us keep our schools safe.
