Spring 2023 Lifelong Learning Class Offerings

The ParaPro Assessment measures the skills and knowledge in reading, writing and math possessed by prospective and practicing paraprofessionals/instructional assistants. It also measures their ability to apply those skills and knowledge when assisting in classroom instruction. These test prep classes will prepare you to take the ParaPro Assessment. *This class is for those interested in working as an instructional assistant who do not have a 2-year degree. Brevard Public Schools is looking for Instructional Assistants and we have the training to get you started! Positions all over Brevard starting at $15/hr.

Through our practical, interactive, and fun classes, you will learn to speak and read Spanish. This will allow you to be competitive in the labor market and also allow you to participate in an amazing cultural experience. Sign Language Classes Melbourne Campus

This class will start with sign language basics. Learn to communicate using American Sign Language. American Sign Language is a natural language that serves as the predominant sign language of Deaf communities in the United States.

This clay class will show you different techniques. We are going to create a variety of different projects of your choice. We will build, glaze, and finalize all projects as you go.

Construction Class: 12 Weeks
Location: Titusville Campus

Times: 5-8pm
Participants learn hands-on, coupled with foundational theory using the National Construction Center for Education and Research (NCCER) training materials to enter the workforce at an accelerated pace. After you have completed the course and receive certifications, you will have the knowledge and skills to fill construction shortages in skilled positions.

Paint Class: Cocoa Campus
4 Classes
Dates: January 10, 17, 24, 31
Tuesdays: 6-8pm
Price: $55 includes supplies
Students learn the basics of working with acrylic paints, including choosing brushes, preparing canvasses for painting. Instruction in color mixing, composition and depth enable the student to begin creating works of art.
