Nation's First GeoBus Debuts at BPS

On February 2nd, the University of Central Florida debuted the nation's first GeoBus at University Park Elementary. The GeoBus is presented by Citizen Science GIS at UCF.

A total of 18 Title I schools have been scheduled for visits by the GeoBus, where 5th-grade students have the opportunity to have immersive learning experiences with coding, augmented reality, geography, renewable energy, virtual reality, drones, and more. The Title I office has covered the $15 per student cost for all participants.

ABOUT GEOBUS:

GeoBus is a mobile geospatial technology learning lab powered by the sun on a 40-foot repurposed city bus that visits Florida K-12 schools. Students participate in team science through interactive, hands-on learning stations inside/outside of GeoBus during a school visit. All activities are connected to Florida Education and National Geographic Content Standards.
