Annual START Transition Conference
On February 25, the 8th annual START Transition Conference was hosted by the Interagency Council of Brevard at the Brevard Public Schools District Office. The mission of the Interagency Council is to enhance the quality of life for all individuals with disabilities in Brevard County through interagency collaboration.
The START Conference was an opportunity for individuals and families that are supported by an Individualized Education Plan or 504 plan to come out and gain information and community agency support. These agencies assist and help individuals through transition phases and post-secondary goals and outcomes. Over 350 individuals were in attendance and had the opportunity to personally meet agency representatives and hear presentations that can assist in the transition process.

There were presentations, including testimonies from individuals who were supported by agencies in their post-secondary goals and endeavors. A question and answer panel also took place that addressed general questions and information about how different agencies could support the attendees and their needs.
The Interagency Council meets the second Wednesday of every month from September through May.
