School Updates 4/20/2020

  1. Florida Governor has announced that K-12 schools statewide will remain closed through May 28th; this includes scheduled school events.  The purpose of school closures is the “social distancing” of students and staff in order to limit the spread illness.

 

  1. Brevard Public Schools began remote instruction for students on Monday, March 30. Lessons are being provided and students are receiving grades for assignments and courses.  Most students are accessing their lessons online through their Launchpad.  Some students are accessing their lessons with a paper/pencil version. 

 

  1. Our School Building

As you know we are in an ever changing world with new challenges to face.  In an effort to meet the guidelines set forth by Gov. DeSantis the schools will be reducing to a minimal workforce effective immediately. 

Listed below you will find the new guidelines that Imperial will be following.

Beginning Thursday, April 9th

  1. No staff members will be at school. 
  2. Email will be the best line of communication with all staff.
  3. If you are unsure of who to contact please send an email to ImperialElementary@brevardschools.org - we will direct your email to the appropriate person.
  4. School phones will be answered by our office staff remotely @ 321-267-1773. 

We are here to support you with any of your tech/academic questions.  Your child's teacher will continue to communicate with you on a regular basis.  Thank you and know that we are missing you!  

 

 

  1. Our school custodial staff has been cleaning and disinfecting our campus, especially high-touch surfaces. 

 

 

  1. Feeding sites for children are available at the following regional locations  from 10:30 am – 1:30 pm .   Any child up to age 18, children must be present to receive meal.

Our feeding sites are now authorized to serve meal packages that include 2 breakfasts & 2 lunches. 

To ensure social distancing, BPS requests that parents drive in to the bus loop and release their trunk; a BPS employee will place one meal package per child in the trunk of the vehicle.

 

 

  1. All field trips for the remainder of the school year have been canceled. 

 

 

  1. Registration for incoming kindergarten students for the 2020-2021 school year and related orientation events have been postponed.  We will send an update once we have the new dates scheduled.

 

  1. The governor has canceled all K-12 required state assessment tests such as the FSA this school year.
