AARIS Questions for Students

AARIS (Amateur Radio on the International Space Station) is an international working group ran mostly by volunteers from the national amateur radio organizations and the international AMSAT organization. Their goals include, but are not limited to,  inspiring an interest in STEM subjects and careers among young people, to provide educational opportunities for students, teachers, and the general public to learn about space exploration, space technologies, satellite communications, wireless technology, and radio science through Amateur Radio.

What that means for SMMS? Our students will have the opportunity to ask questions in real time to astronauts onboard the ISS. Before the contact, all students will be learning about space, the ISS, space exploration and technologies.

SMMS was one of 9 US proposals to host a contact for the January-June 2023 period.
