Arrival/Dismissal Policies and Procedures

Westside Elementary School’s Arrival/Dismissal Policies and Procedures

Thank you for observing the following arrival and dismissal policies and procedures. Our primary concern is the safety of our students. We appreciate your continued cooperation and support in maintaining a smooth and consistent arrival and dismissal for children.


Arrival

  • No drop off prior to 7:30 a.m. as there is no supervision
  • Students chronically dropped off prior to 7:30 a.m. will be placed in school child care ($25.00 fee per day for non-registered students)
  • Building entrance prior to 8:15 a.m. is on the south side of the school
  • Use south side car loop for all student drop off (entrance next to the Bayside Discovery Daycare)
  • Front loop is reserved for buses only
  • If using the front lot, you MUST park in a parking spot and walk your child up to the building
    • Please respect the reserved handicap spaces
  • Any student not able to arrive to the classroom by 8:00 a.m. is tardy andmust have a parent sign him/her in at the office
  • Please obey the 5 mph speed limit in the side loop and in the front parking lot
  • Students should always enter and exit automobiles on the curb side while dropping off in the car loop


Dismissal

  • Dismissal is 2:30 p.m. (1:15 p.m. every Friday)
  • Students not picked up by 3:00 p.m. (1:45 p.m. on Fridays) will be placed in   school child care ($25.00 fee per day for non-registered students)
  • K-2nd  + older siblings car pick up is in the south side loop
  • 3rd-6th car pick up is in the front loop after the buses leave. Please do not arrive in the lot prior to 2:20. The buses need space to safely turn corners.
  • All cars picking up students MUST have a car tag
  • Walk-ups to take students from the loop are not permitted
  • Rainy Day Dismissal- All bikers and walkers will be placed in their grade level car loop (cars picking up MUST have a car tag)
    • Car tags: available in the front office
  • Please obey the 5 mph speed limit in the side loop and in the front parking lot
  • Students should always enter and exit   automobiles on the curb side while picking up in the car loop
  • Transportation changes may not be made over the telephone. Please send in or fax a signed note with a signature that matches the student’s registration card.
