VHS Parent Update - March 29

Dear Viera High School Families,

I hope you all are doing well.  Tomorrow begins online instruction for our Viera High School students.  We are looking forward to supporting our students through our online platform for instruction.  VHS staff are committed to ensuring our students are successful in this new way of learning.

All students are required to log into Focus each day to access their assignments from their teachers.  Logging into Focus is also how we will record your student's attendance. I know our teachers have prepared excellent lessons for our students and look forward to working with them.

Please remind your students that, just like in the classroom, if they are experiencing challenges with the curriculum or coursework, to please reach out to his or her teachers. The teachers have planned to implement creative ways to communicate with our students, whether its over the phone, google voice, email, or another platform.

I recognize that for our seniors this is a very challenging time, as senior year is a very special time in their high school experience.  Graduation and prom are still scheduled and we are currently monitoring the situation.  If anything needs to be rescheduled or cancelled, I will communicate with you.

If you are not currently following our Viera High School Official Facebook page, I encourage you to join it.  There are multiple Viera High pages on Facebook, but our official page can be accessed at: https://www.facebook.com/vierahighschoolofficial/  The Viera High School page has the Viera High Crest as our profile picture and a picture of VHS as the background picture.

Earlier today, I posted a video with information for students and families.  This is where we will be posting updates. In addition, staff members are creating short videos for you during this virtual learning experience to continue to spread our school's mission of Support, Inspire, and Motivate! Be sure you check our Facebook page each day to see the funny, encouraging, heartfelt videos created by our compassionate team of teachers, administration and staff. We are all in this together, and we want every student and parent to know that we miss you, we care about you, we are here for you, and we will all get through this together as a Viera Hawk Family!

The entire VHS faculty and staff are here to support you. Please reach out to us if you experience any challenges with instruction.  Our front office is currently closed, however, we are accepting phone calls from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM from Monday – Friday.  We are here to support you and your students!

We look forward to beginning online instruction together tomorrow! Together, we will ensure the success of our students.

Go Hawks!

Sincerely,

Sarah Robinson, Principal
