FAST Progress Monitoring 2 (PM2) RESULTS
The FAST PM2 Window has closed, and the 3rd-6th grade results were sent home the week of Dec. 8th and K-2nd grade results were sent home the week of Dec. 15th.
Please contact your child’s teacher if you would like to meet to discuss your child’s FAST PM2 results.
Any parent/legal guardian that needs their child’s FAST PM2 results translated into their native language, please contact the front office.

FAST Assessments
At Cape View Elementary, we are committed to using the best tools available to support student learning and growth. One of the most important tools we use throughout the year is FAST Progress Monitoring (Florida Assessment of Student Thinking Progress Monitoring).
What Is FAST?
FAST is Florida’s statewide assessment system designed to track student progress in reading and math. It provides real-time information on how students are doing with grade-level standards and helps teachers adjust instruction quickly to meet student needs.
Unlike traditional standardized testing that happens only once at the end of the year, FAST is given three times annually:
PM1 (Progress Monitoring 1) – early in the school year to establish a baseline.
PM2 (Progress Monitoring 2) – midyear to check growth and guide instruction.
PM3 (Progress Monitoring 3) – at the end of the year to measure overall achievement and growth.
Why Is FAST Important?
Immediate Feedback – Teachers receive student results quickly, allowing them to identify areas of strength and need right away.
Individualized Instruction – Results help guide small group lessons, intervention plans, and enrichment activities.
Growth Tracking – Families and educators can see how students are progressing over time, not just on a single test.
Alignment with Standards – FAST is directly tied to the Florida Benchmarks of Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.), ensuring that students are learning the skills they need for long-term success.
What Does It Mean for Families?
Parents and guardians will receive reports after each testing window. These reports highlight how your child is performing compared to grade-level expectations and provide clear insights into their learning growth.
At home, families can support their child by:
Encouraging daily reading and math practice.
Talking with teachers about ways to reinforce learning.
Celebrating growth and effort, not just scores.

En Cape View Elementary, estamos comprometidos a utilizar las mejores herramientas disponibles para apoyar el aprendizaje y crecimiento de los estudiantes. Una de las herramientas más importantes que utilizamos a lo largo del año es el FAST Progress Monitoring (Evaluación de Florida del Monitoreo del Progreso del Pensamiento Estudiantil).
¿Qué es FAST?
FAST es el sistema estatal de evaluación de Florida diseñado para hacer un seguimiento del progreso de los estudiantes en lectura y matemáticas. Proporciona información en tiempo real sobre cómo les va a los estudiantes con los estándares de nivel escolar y ayuda a los profesores a ajustar la enseñanza rápidamente para satisfacer las necesidades de los estudiantes.
A diferencia de las pruebas estandarizadas tradicionales que solo se realizan una vez al final del año, FAST se realiza tres veces al año:
· PM1 (Seguimiento del Progreso 1) – al principio del curso escolar para establecer una línea base.
· PM2 (Seguimiento del Progreso 2) – mitad de año para comprobar el crecimiento y guiar la instrucción.
· PM3 (Seguimiento del Progreso 3) – a final de año para medir el logro y crecimiento general.
