Parent’s Right to Know
Teacher Certification - Parents' Right to Know Letter
Parents have the right to know their child’s teacher’s certification. At Palm Bay Elementary, all our teachers are highly qualified. However, some teachers are considered out-of-field because they have not yet met all the certification requirements specified by the Florida Department of Education for the subject(s) she is teaching. Please see the two attached letters – one for subject area and one for ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Languages) Endorsement. Both letters have been translated into Spanish and Haitian Creole. If you have any questions, please reach out to Ms. Kellee McCluney, Principal.
Complaint Procedure
If any LEA or School Plans (e.g. Title I LEA Plan, Title I LEA PIP, Title I School PIP or SIP) are not satisfactory to the parents of participating children, the school district will submit any parent comments with the Title I, Part A plan when the school district submits the plan to the State Department of Education. Parents must be informed of their rights to submit comments. Comments received at Title I schools MUST be forwarded to the Office of Title I and those comments will be included with submission of the LEA Title I Plan, as required.
