Congratulations to the 121 students who met our attendance challenge for January 20-30! They received 5 PBIS points for having ZERO absences and ZERO tardies! The next attendance challenge runs February 2-13. Thank you to the students and families who continue to show up every day for school! All your efforts resulted in Stone winning a @brevardschools District Attendance Challenge! Let's repeat our success for next time! Great job, everyone!

Stone students in Dr. Alexander's science class became underwater engineers as they designed and tested their own Cartesian divers, discovering how pressure can make objects sink, float, or hover in place. With every squeeze of the bottle, their divers sprang to life—darting, diving, and rising like tiny submarines responding to invisible forces. The room buzzed with excitement as they mastered buoyancy through hands‑on experimentation!

Stone students in Dr. Alexander's classes explored how objects can be grouped based on shared properties, helping them see that classification isn’t random—it’s driven by patterns. This same idea is at the heart of the periodic table, where elements are organized by similarities in their physical and chemical characteristics. By sorting everyday items first, students built the foundational thinking needed to understand why elements fall into families and periods that reveal predictable behaviors.

The 2025-2026 ESE Parent Survey window is now open! Each year, the Florida Department of Education
(FDOE)surveys parents of children with an individual education plan (IEP)to determine how well districts
and schools are partnering with parents and promoting parent involvement in their child’s education. All
states must collect this data for reporting on their State Performance Plan, as required under the Individuals
with Disability Education Act (IDEA). Additionally, survey results will be used to help schools and
districts improve services and results for children with disabilities. The survey is open to all parents of
children with an IEP receiving ESE services from preschool age through grade 12 until June 30, 2026.

The 2026 START ESE Conference will be held Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 8:00AM – 12:30PM at Brevard School Board. This conference is hosted by the Interagency Council of Brevard and the Office of Student Services, Program Support for individuals who support students with unique abilities of all ages. We encourage families with students of all ages to attend to gain the latest information on future planning and agency contacts.
