Welcome to the Williams Strings Program! 

Students in 5th and 6th grade have an opportunity to join one of our two strings groups. Students in both groups have the opportunity to rent an instrument from our school. The cost to rent an instrument is $50 for the year and $25 for the summer. 

Beginning Strings

Our school offers fifth and sixth grade students an optional Beginning Strings instruction program. This class is separate from the General Music class and teaches your student how to play a string instrument: violin, viola, cello, or bass. Students are expected to practice at home several times a week. Beginning Strings will perform at the winter and spring concerts.

Beginning Strings rehearsals are Tuesday & Thursday from 7:00-7:45 AM.

Intermediate Strings

In Intermediate Strings, students in 6th grade can continue to learn the orchestral string instruments: violin, viola, cello, and bass. Students must have satisfactorily completed beginning strings or have passed a proficiency test in order to join intermediate strings.

Intermediate Strings rehearsals are Wednesday & Friday from 7:00-7:45 AM.
